Area, Volume, Capacity and Weight

-->

Today as part of our measurement unit and making links to our current inquiry. (Construction of Rube Goldberg machines)  We looked at Nets and a range of area and volume concepts (geometry and measurement)

The task was to create a 10cm x 10cm x 10cm  cube (container)

If correctly constructed, with accurate measurements the container should hold 1 litre of water.

Area, Volume, Capacity and Weight
·       10 x 10 x 10  = 1000cm3    (10 cubed)
·       1000cm=   1000ml
·       1000ml = 1L
·       1000ml of water = 1000gms  (1 Kg)

We then tested our containers to confirm the above measurement facts.
